My BV cure

Hi ladies so I ended up in the BV nightmare after being on antibiotics and two rounds of diflucan and tremendous stress. Nothing worked. I did flagyl, peroxide, salt water, oral probiotics, boric acid and probably others I'm forgetting. I've always been a fan of essential oils so I decided to look into that. I read some very promising info about thyme oil breaking down bacterial biofilms. I knew I needed to dilute it and find a way to get it in my vag. I found these cute little heart molds on Amazon. I then bought some cold pressed unrefined coconut oil. I ordered the thyme oil off Amazon (all oils I used were doterra but I think any high quality oils will work. )I put the coconut oil jar in about 2 inches of water in a pan and warmed it on the stovetop. Make sure you get coconut oil in a glass jar. Make sure you are patient and use a very low setting so you don't get it to hot and ruin the good stuff. I then put 20 drops of thyme, lemon, lemongrass, and tea tree oil and mixed it up good. I used a turkey baster and filled the little heart molds and then carefully put it in the fridge. I then inserted one heart each night for 5 days. I recommend getting in bed first and wearing a panty liner. I also ordered primadophilus 90 billion count probiotics, vitamin D3 (5000 iu a day) multivitamin with high b vitamin, and folic acid. After 5 days of essential oil inserts I broke open a probiotic capsule and got my finger wet and dumped the probiotic on my finger and stuck it in my vag and swirled it around. I did this for about 5 days as well. I also recommend drinking water with lemon and cutting back or eliminating sweets and caffeine. The BV monster has not returned. I continue to insert the probiotics if my hubby and I have sex and he finishes in me. Clean yourself up with water and insert using the method mentioned earlier. I know this is a lot of work and money but for those suffering you know it's well worth it!

I’m glad you’ve found a process that works. Here’s another one you might want to try:  Raw organic honey works for BV. (Yes, it does need to be raw, not just organic. Honey that is cooked— pasteurized— loses some of its healing properties.)  Insert a small amount on the tip of your finger, once in the morning and again at night before bed. Use a panty liner to catch the honey when it seeps back out. (Enough will remain inside to do its work.) Honey is very effective at restoring the natural balance of vaginal flora, has no side effects and is relatively easy to use. I discovered this remedy after 2 years of BV—and was symptom free within a day of starting the honey treatment. I want to add that there is a lot of natural advice (about honey, vinegar and other remedies) at a site called Whole Woman Village Forum. (My comment may get flagged if I include the link, so just Google it.)  As for diet, eliminating processed sugar, as well as cutting back on natural sugars, is very important.  Also, it is good to eat naturally fermented/probiotic foods like raw sauerkraut, kombucha, kefir, yogurt, apple cider vinegar, etc. As you repopulate your body’s good bacteria, the bad bacteria will not be able to compete. And  if you are not already doing so, start eating good fats: avocado oil, real butter, coconut oil, and olive oil. Best wishes!

Hi Wendy! Thank you SO much for posting what has worked for you! How long have you been without any noticeable symptoms? Have you been tested to check your vaginal flora by a lab to ensure actual abatement of bv?

Would love to know! As I'm searching for a cure myself, I'm noticing many women posting about maintenance routines that relieve symptoms, but many don't write about whether the bv is truly gone, or for how long they have been symptom free. Although it is fantastic to be symptom free, I would like to truly eradicate this issue permanently, as my symptoms flare severely after my period and after sex with bf. Maintenance is not the same as cured, and the problem with bv bacteria is that it has led to some other nasty problems such as pid, susceptibility to catching other STDs, and pregnancy complications. So I'd rather be cured and totally free of this bacteria.

I've had 3 rounds of vaginal antibiotic treatment and it hasn't eradicated it. Although I feel much better immediately when taking the treatment, eventually it comes back anyways, meaning some of it was there all along. And it comes back with a vengeance, smelling particularly putrid, which is absolutely horrifying to go through. This particular strain of bacteria is nasty and will keep coming back until it is truly wiped out. It's an opportunist, always waiting for the right moment.

Currently I'm using manuka honey up there, taking femdophilus, eating coconut yogurt probiotics, drinking unsweetened cranberry juice to raise my acidity since bad bacteria like alkalinity so diiieeee, cutting out bread and sugar. Already vegetarian so there's that, already eat healthy and workout.

However, although the totally putrid smell went away, I'm now more attune to the more subtle signs that it is still there. I check my secretions by putting a clean finger in. Its white and creamy, kinda like a thicker lotion. And it has a slightly off scent. I just know that's not quite my normal smell. I remember back in the day during normal vagina times, my discharge changed with my cycle and usually had some everyday. Now, it just gets creamy and stays inside, doesn't really come out of me. Also, I used to get that egg white type of discharge during ovulation, where you can pull a piece between two parted fingers. Can't remember the last time I've has that. So sad for my poor vag.

I plan on visiting an infectious disease specialist, and i found a study that uses a mixture of a prebiotic gel on women after the antibiotic treatment and it seemed promising, so I will find a way to get my hands on that somehow and do that. I'm also researching everyday before and after work, so I keep finding out more as I go along. I will not rest until we are cured ladies. This has gone on for far too long. Let's eradicate this antibiotic resistant b*****d!
