My Cast Liner is chafing my skin

Next Tuesday my cast comes off and upgraded to a walking boot, but now my cast liner is irritating the top of my foot in the bottom of it and the sides of my ankles. One of the reasons I know this is happening is because I can't get to it and put lotion on it. Any ideas?

I could not bear the boot. I have small feet and in any shoe other than sketchers ny ankle is below the shoe line. It was cruel. Had remove it. I also have left my wound uncovered so it forms a healing scab. Every time it was dressed scab came off and got oozy. Had a crappy day yesterday mentally just over it all. Today I'm getting my act together. Tell your dr about boot pain.

I'm still in a cast and I think my cast liner
Is wearing thin cause it's rubbing against the top and bottom of my foot. However, a walking boot has got to be more freeing than my cast. I bought specific socks to wear w/my aircast and purchased an even up for my good foot. Patience, right?

I had an Even-up for my non-surgical foot, but I also had to buy a man's size gel insole for inside the boot because it felt like my heel was hitting wood with every step. The insole helped quite a bit.

It's probably not just because of the cast liner. Remember that your leg isn't getting much air and since you can't wash it the dead cells that would normally come of in washing are still hanging around. I got a new cast every 2 weeks and my leg was still completely chafed by the time I moved to the boot. Although you aren't supposed to try to scratch with anything I did sometimes rub the top of my foot and the side of the ankle opposite the incision with a long, very thin, rounded metal spatula that slipped inside my cast without a problem.
