My Cataract surgury was not good, very BLURRY VISION

I live in a mountain community.  We have one doctor that is almost 2 hrs away, everyone recommends as one of the best even my local eye doctor.

I had my first eye done a little over two weeks ago and my long distant vision was not right and the doctor informed me because I did not want to use reading glasses it made my far vision blurry.  He did the second eye  few days ago and my vision is extremely blurred and it is very depressing I still need glasses for reading and now I am sure I will need glasses for distance.  I did go to my local Dr. one week after my first surgery and felt things would clear up after I am done with my drops.  When I got up this AM I felt my vision is worse.  I never needed glasses for distants but now I do not know, the local Dr. told me after my first sugery I would need glasses, I am an artist and my vision if everything to me.  I tried painting a few times since my last surgery and my vision is off, I am 75 and I am having a very hard time with all of this.  I only needed reading glasses but only on occasions and never distant glasses.  Now I need both.  I go this Tues to the local Dr. for a ck up I  Pray he will give some better news.

He should have told you that you get to pick either close up vision or distanance you can't get both unless you get multi lense and i think there is problems with that lense.  It sounds like he didn't explain it to well..

I agree with you, he did not explain much to me at all.  He did ask me about reading glasses and I said I would like it if i didn't have to wear reading glasses, he NEVER told me my distant vision would be so bad.

Is it possible you have a "cloudy capsule?"  It is my understanding that is a condition easily repaired.  Ask your doctor about it and don't give up hope.

He didn't waste anytime doing the second after screwing up the first.   You could have had the second eye to see in the distance .  Some people have one eye for distance and one eye for close up. That works well. I'll pray for you that everything works out
