My confession.... 😱😋

So, anyone's that aware of my previous posts knows I'm going thru very trying times right now....ie, California wildfires to just name one.
Last night, I decided to give myself a MUCH needed break. I watched one of my favorite movies (Bridesmaids) and proceeded to "indulge" in a pint of my favorite ice cream (31 flavors, pralines and creamπ). I've recently found it to be true....I'm an emotional eater!π
ordinarily, this wouldn't have been a problem as I've never had to worry bout these things....alas, that was prior to prednisone!!
ok all you "Carbs Police", this is only a confession and not a license to kick sand in my face!....I KNOW carbs are a big "No no".
My point is, we're ALL human.
Sometimes we just be more kind to ourselves (and each other!)
Just sayin.....
will try and do better today!

I am smiling. In light of the trials you have been through, a little ice cream is a good thing.
My confession? Chick-fil-a has their peppermint milkshakes right now.
Oh. My. Goodness. They are a cure for all that ails (for a few minutes.)
Enough said.
We want the fires, smoke,..all to go away for CA. Thinking of you daily.
Take care. MariGrace

I know. Yum. Bought a large shake and shared it with my husband.
Have a half gallon in the freezer and it might become a peppermint pie for Christmas. Ice cream will help the throat. .. and frayed nerves, too. π
Feel better. We have a house full of sick people. They need to get well. We are trying. My goal is to "not" get it. Take care!!

Hi lynda62707
I think we are all entitled to pamper ourselves and give ourselves a treat on the odd occasion. What you have been going through with your PMR and eye problems and the horrendous situation in Cali at the moment you so deserve it.
It's been a tough time for the folk who have been in the heart of the fires and those around and about who have been affected by the fires in some way. We are all with you lynda willing and praying for this dreadful occurrence to come to an end.
Right lynda you've inspired me...i'm off to make a nice cuppa and treat myself to large slice of gateaux......Bon Appetite!....π°π΅ππ€π

I think Martha Stewart had a recipe for Gateau Basque I saw. Gateau is the French word for cake, Gateaux is the plural.

Hi lynda

Dear Lynda,
I too am thinking of you and how I can't even imagine what it must be like to be dealing with PMR and WF's. If I were you, I'd be eating ice cream all the time, and I wouldn't have any fingernails.
So, are we not suppose to eat carbohydrates, while harboring PMR? How can we not?
If one were not on a tight budget, is there another way to get enough protein, without the carbs, and without spending a wad in the kitchen as well?

I have to admit Patricia....I'm REALLY being tested right now...with the holidays on the horizon, I'm afraid the "test" is apt to become much harder shortly! π±π π

You needed the ice cream treat, nothing to feel guilty about. But don't look on the holiday season as a challenge you are bound to lose. Remember the old adage, "A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips" and find a less calorific way to celebrate the season. You will, I guarantee it, feel better physically and emotionally afterwards if you (and your loved ones?) rein in the indulgence, a worthwhile reward.

Hi lynda, glad to see you are all ok. we cannot begin to imagine what you are going through our thoughts are with you.
talking of indulgence, my hubby and myself went to a city called Leeds for christmas shopping, and found the french, german and italian markets were here, and coming home i bought for cakes from a italian stall.
when we got home we ate the lot , this was to celebrate the good news regarding my hubbies eye problems yeah!!!!!!
take care god bless

good for you Margaret! So glad to hear of your hubbys good news!
I thought I'd feel somewhat guilty today, but oddly enough, I DO NOT!
of course I'll be taking my "sweet time" to face the almighty scale for awhile....can you say, "what you don't know won't hurt you?".....LOLππ΅
