My dad is certain my wrist is not broken, but how can I be sure?

So two days ago I slipped and fell on the ice, I heard a loud cracking noise and then felt a sharp pain in my wrist, I immediately ran inside and bandaged it up and took some aspirin, I told my dad and he asked if I could hold out for a while before rushing to the hospital (we'd probably have to wait for at least 5 hours).

After only about 15 minutes I noticed that the pain was pretty much gone, and I thanked the painkillers, but the morning after my wrist felt fine... until I tried to move it, I felt like a sharp shooting pain, and the same when I tried to pick something up.

My mom had a look at it (she has worked as a geriatrician) and said it was probably a muscle tear and it would heal on its own (but I don't know if I trust her because she always tells me what she thinks I want to hear rather than the truth). It's been three days now, and although it feels a bit better it still is nowhere near healed.

There's no bruising just a bit of redness, pretty much no swelling.

I just don't want to wait for weeks for it to heal and then find out that it's actually broken.

Is there any way to know other than x-ray?

    Hi

Go and get it checked, so what if you have to wait for 5 hrs take a book with you, take something to keep

    you busy.

What if it heals and the bone is not straight you may have to get it reset at a later date.

It's your body, it's your choice.

I'm presuming that Cersia you are too young to go on your own so have to rely on Mum and Dad to take you, my mum broke her wrist and was in a lot of pain so your Mum could well be right but tell Mum/Dad that your concerned its more than a sprain.

Remember though that sprains can be pretty painful and soft tissue damage can take weeks to mend
