My Dad with PC Bone Metastasis Gleason 7

Firstly, please pardon my English (not my first). I have been following and reading this thread for awhile, found it very informative, often entertaining in this difficult time (Thanks to you both Carl n Dudley). My Dad is 72, had prostatectomy in Jan 2015, now he is bed rest in hospital for the last two weeks, unable to walk, receiving RT (3x so far, recommended 10x) with Prednisone, and Physiotheraphy twice a day; starting training with Medi Spinomed spine support for sitting up as we speak, however it's a big relieve for him at least for now. He is an independent bloke in nature, played tennis for 25yr, travelled the world in 60 countries, bet he can't wait to run
To my understanding, he should have had RT straight after operation in Jan, no wait and see action. Stubborn old man, there you go.
I haven't come across any serious PCBM in this thread, I would like to hear more about the life span in this stage, management, follow up treatment; as I was told by his oncologist 2 years but in wheelchair. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Many thanks.

Back to hospital holidaying today for another week also, feeling quite exhausted myself. I just want to update that my dad is responding well to RT so far (another 3x to go - unlikely to add more according to his oncologist), gaining strength day by day, but seems to losing weight anyone knows why; started Zoledronic Acid (Zometa) drip today (once a month). He was told he can be discharged if he want, but we would like him to stay till the end of his treatment for convenience reason. In term of his PT, he did walked 20-22 metre with human support wearing Spinomed, impossible otherwise. Can't wait for a review at the end of RT, so to say I'm feeling impatient right now. Has anyone experiencing with Zometa, any personal side effect or advice to share will be appreciated. Many thanks.

He has completed his 10x RT last week, and now on Abiraterone Zytiga 2 tablets a day (I don't know what to think in terms of Zytiga price, mad), so far only 2 tablets, but there is a possibility to increase to 4, don't know yet. As I said before we were told by his onco he will be unable to walk even he completed the RT, but now he walks with stick but slow, at least given him a slight normality in which we are grateful. The problem he is having now is low Hb and Trombosis, so he has been back to hospital nearly every week (every Tuesday be exact) for blood transfusion for the last two weeks. Im not sure whether this is an on-going thing for this stage of PC or will his Hb stabilised over period of time? I wish I know...
You can imagine how frustrated he is to be in and out of hospital, and also its difficult for all of us to experience. We will find out soon whether Zytiga works or not when he has his PSA test which due next week. Its hard to remain optimistic in situation like this. x
