So sorry to hear this Chrisse. Is there any chance your foot will improve in time, or can they do another op on them?..second thoughts more surgery could well make things even worse!

I was offered this type of surgery by rheumy a few months ago but I refused because I'd heard that surgery can make things worse, and it ain't that uncommon for things to go wrong apparently. My feet can be very painful, but thankfully they are not in such bad shape as your foot was pre-op, so you must have been suffering terribly with them.  Seeing the state of your post-op foot has reinforced my decision not to have the op. Just hope my feet don't get so bad that I don't have any choice on the matter.

I feel for you Chrissie and can only hope things improve.

    All the best

    Tony

It can be difficult to keep our spirits up on times, especially when things go wrong as they have with you. I also have other chronic health conditions to contend with, which clash with my RA medication making life all the more uncomfortable and rather worrying for me on times. That said, we are a tough and resolute bunch us RA sufferers and don't easily give up the fight.

I wish you well for the future....

Oh Chrissie, my heart goes out to you, as I have had arguements with the Rheumatologist at my local hospital as he wanted me to go for surgery for my elbows, I said NO emphatically as I had met so many people over the years who have gone for surgery and been the same if not more pain after surgery.  He thought I was trying to be awkward but I just thought if I'm in pain now I know where I stand if I go for surgery and it doesn't work I could end up in a worse state with no way out.

I hope your pain eases and at some point your able to put shoes on, I really really feel for you.
