I gather from what you say regards thoughts you may hurt yourself or look for a more lasting end to your Mental Health Concerns. If this is the case Telephone NHS Information Line on Tel 111 and explain you are in danger.

You also need to talk to your GP ASAP and discuss the reasons and concerns regarding you Depression. Make an appointment and list so you can refer to it at the Surgery, this will help your GP and yourself get more out of the time given.

If you want to chat here we can help with some support, they are kind people here and will help you move on in the short/mid term.

    Always around

Owen, if you haven't talked to your Dr. about the depression, you should. I am speaking from experience. I suffered from depression (dysthymia) for years before I asked for help. People DO care. I worried about the "stigma" of taking antidepressants and having depression listed on my medical records. Finally, one day, I told myself, "this is BS! There is help available and I am going to reach out for it." I am glad I did because I feel better since taking this step.

Please remember something that I tell my teenager: Don't make a permanent harmful decision about a temporary problem.

Things will get better for you. Remember, people DO care! 😊

Best Wishes and Better Days are Ahead.

Hi Owen - sorry you are feeling this way. The notion that no-one cares is the depression talking. So is the feeling of hopelessness. Depression is a cruel and cunning ailment often dismissed by others who are lucky enough never to have suffered it, demonised by ignorant elements of society, and consequently hidden by sufferers who fear seeking help. You haven't stated whether you have seen a doctor or are medicated. If not, the first stop is the doc shop. If you are seeing a doc and are medicated, then perhaps the med dosage needs tweaking or the med changed altogether. In this day and age there is help for you - you just have to ask for it. Suicide is not an answer.
