My Doctor prescribed half inderel 18 years ago for postnatal depression and said it was addictive, but 18 years on i think its time to come off it. i suggested i come off it and found i had bad withdrawal symptoms after one week, he put me back on half inderel and has not said anymore on the subject. i am sure i shouldnt be on them after all these years.

I have been taking a few months as a pulse test showed my pulse was too fast and upon having 3 pulse tests in 3 months on firstly starting on a low dose i did not change, so was prescribed 80mg sr capsules, not sure if it has worked to be honest only the first 3/4 months was taking the proprietor brand and now for the last ones i have been taking by a different manufacturer and have noticed that my mood swings are really terrible i flip like a switch am always so tired and not my happy self at all, my husband said i was becoming very unhappy and moody as i love to dance around and be lots of fun with my kids and now i cannot be bothered!! Also in the past few months my periods have been all over aswell 6wks, 2wks, 3wks between so not sure if that is cause of my moods or maybe hormonal am 37 although my mum went throught the change in early 40's i feel very confused at present and don't know what to do.:?

I've had migraine for 13 years and they have worsened as I've gotten older, often a migraine each week or every fortnight if I'm lucky. Pizotifen made me sick instantly. Amitriptyline at a higher dose made me suffer nausea in horrid waves and the lower dose was ineffective. Propranolol has made me feel sluggish, tired all the time and since starting it over 2 months ago, for all I haven't had a migraine I have had a 'thick head' permanently. I could fall asleep literally anywhere any time. My GP has now started me on Sodium Valproate (which is an antiepileptic) and I feel it's my last hope for a prevention of migraine. I take sumatriptan (Imigran) or zolmatriptan (Zomig melts) when I get a migraine which work (either after 1, 2 or 3 tablets though as they come back!) but hate the 'hang over' feeling I'm left with when I've taken sumatriptan. Has anyone used Sodium Valproate for prevention of migraine and advise me of which side effects are expected? Or any other methods to try that I haven't already exhausted...? At my wits end.

i have just been prescribed 80mg of propanolol for severe migraines. i was on sanomigran for years until it stopped working, (i think age has something to do with it, i am 49).After trying Amytriptyline (2 at night),of which did not help me at all, constant nausea fealing, muzzy head, could not be bothered to do anything feeling, i am now about to embark on another journey of trial and error. After reading the comments on this new tablet (for me anyway), i am somewhatcurious, and concerned. i hate the feeling of not being in control of things, i hate the dizzy sicky feeling 24/7. So here goes, fingers crossed it works and watch this space....:?:headhurts::ill:

I have had migraine since I was 29 (24 years back), at least that what it starts with. I dont get the headaches but all the other aura, loss of speech, feelings stuff followed by 3-4 weeks of depression, nervous tension, awful nausea and digestive issues. Long thought I am going mad! Tried all sorts, most recent times being beta-blocker and clomipramine in small dose. Sort of works but started to get worse so doctor thinks sodium valproate may be worth a try. I will have a go at anything as I am desperate to get some respite. There is no single cure for all. It depends on your outlook. I am prepared to give it a go. Bound to be some issues. Have you tried hypnotherapy or acupuncture? It works for some folks. I know others get great relief from yoga! Odd world isnt it?
