I took enzymes last year and they really bothered me.  Seemed like I had more attacks when I was on them.  I was taking ZenPep

So you stopped taking enzymes now? How is your health now? Is your body able digest food without the enzymes?

I stopped taking the ZenPep in March of 2016 and the attacks stopped.  I asked my GI about the enzymes causing pain.  He seemed surprised.

I am much better now.  In addition to stopping the enzymes I quit smoking, changed my diet and started exercising.  CT scan shows that my Pancreas has gone back to normal size.

    Hello Daisymom,

When Pancreas loses its ability produce natural enzymes, GP will prescribe Enzymes tablet. It will help your body to digest food, since pancreas does not produce the enzymes. You need to take it with every meal. I think there is no alternative for this. Just maintain your diet and you'll be good.

I haven't had pancreas attack from 9 months.

    Hope you get well soon.

Whilst the idea of taking pig enzymes doesn't fill me with joy they have helped my malabsorption issues tremendously compared to previously.  I take Creon.
