my doctor won't help

I've been in zapain for a long time now. They're not a long term medication and they're just not working. Every time I go to the doctor I'm fobbed off. I've looked up treatments and I'm doing most of them but there's always some level of pain and I'm finding it hard to look after my children. Is there anything I can do??

It took a few years to get a diagnosis but now I've got it no one seems that bothered anymore. They keep fobbing me off with painkillers that don't work and are affecting my crohns I don't see how I can get them to help me. I'm at the end of my tether now.

Hi Victoria, if it's possible, try to stay away from pain meds. I've had FM for 20 years. Saw rheumatologists and all kinds of drs. Finalt found q fantastic neurologist who  prescribed a nerve med called Lamictal (LamoTRIgene). I am from the states n not sure what u have available there, but it helped greatly. Maybe you could find a good neurologist. Apparently, your brain signals are not being relayed properly to the mylin sheath between the muscles. The mylin sheath then tightens up n is less elastic which causes the pain. I got this info from a book written by a female dr who has FM. Do not have the name of the book available righr now, but if u go into my back conversations u shiuld find it. Take care n good luck.

Thanks I'll definitely look for it so tired and fed up now. Seems like all docs want to prescribe is painkillers and not very good ones at that.
