My Dr. decreased my pain meds by 50%, is this withdrawal?

I was taking 10mg of Oxycodone 5 times a day for a bad fall I had on Dec 16, 2017. Stayed on that dose for 6 weeks when my doctor decreased the dose to 7.5mg of Norco 5 times a day. I have been shaking, have chills and sweats, and not sleeping much since that drop.
My dr. had said she would help me taper but isn't this a bit too fast? I complained to my dr. and she said I could go back on the Oxycodone, but only the 5mg size. Actually that wouldn't be much of a change so I would still be in the same boat. Is there such a thing as stabilizing on the lower dose so I can continue my taper? Or am I going to feel this bad until I just get off of it? What is the point of a taper if you feel so bad you cant function?
Sorry if I am rambling... I am shaky and feeling out of sorts.

Maybe you really just have the flu bug.

Hi Melchar, Thanks for the reply
My problem is that I was switched from taking the 10mg Oxy's to the 7.5 Norco's. 7.5 of Norco is equal to 5mg Oxy or a drop of 50%. I detoxed from Oxy before... after I got hurt at work in 2011. At that time I was told not to drop more than 10-20% at a time.
I was thinking that my receptors might be fragile and not liking such a big drop? I wish it were a flu bug for sure, I don't like the thought of having any type of WD symptoms again. Anyway, thanks again for your reply.

Hi Pamela
Although a low dose, (I tapered from 1500mgs per day of Oxy) you cannot drop by 50% it's way too much!!!
If you look at some of my posts you will see my history etc but yes, it's too much too fast!! Your Dr is expecting too much from you!
You need to tell her this & try tapering slower.
Good luck & please let us know how you get on!
Take care
