My Experience With Pityriasis Rosea

I just wanted to share my story about PR and hopefully help others as well!

Like most stories on here, I saw the beginning of the herald patch and thought it was acne or a bug bite. Within three weeks, what I thought was one of the aforementioned, had expanded to about the size of a nickel on my stomach.

Being proactive, I looked up what was going on on the internet and saw that what I was experiencing had the same symptoms of PR (I hadn't put both of these together at the time because who thinks that a sore throat and a body rash go hand in hand but there ya go.) Regardless, because of all of the things that I had read (specifically on this forum) I bought myself clinical strength head and shoulders, and vitamins d and c. I also went and got myself a tanning package.

At the first onset of the rash (so a total of 4 weeks in, 3 with just Herald and one with rash spread) I don't think that just the shampoo and vitamins worked. This is largely because the rash has to make its initial spread before diminishing. At the time I had a couple on my stomach, some on my arms, a handful on my chest, and my neck was covered. I also went tanning twice and I thought that it made things worse.

During the first week I also ordered Prreze, got myself some milk thistle, l-theanine, and l-glutamine. I took those as advised, stopped tanning (I just didn't think it helped at all), and continued showering essentially twice a day with head and shoulders. In about a week and a half ALL of my spots have disappeared. I would say I still have some dark spots where they were but no new eruptions (the eruptions stopped around day 14).

I have been drinking Yogis Skin Detox tea every morning as well. Truly, I don't know if this has made any difference but I have taken a lot of comfort in drinking a cup or two a day.

Anyway, that's my story and I hope to never deal with this again. I am also more than happy to answer any questions about my experience!
