My family member has G6PD

A family member of mine has G6PD Deficiency and has recently developed liver failure. Doctors arent sure what the cause is and the liver is getting worse. To my understanding G6PD is an enzyme in our blood that protects the red blood cells from premature destruction. Now type 1 diabetics are also insulin deficient in which they take an insulin injection to correct the deficiency. So my question is could you in theory give a G6PD Deficient person the enzyme in the same way a type 1 diabetic person gives themselves insulin?
