my fibula fracture

I had a distal fibula fracture (weber A) because of an accident. My leg was in the cast for 7weeks. Then the doctor removed the cast and allowed me to move with ankle gel support. I did an xray after 3 weeks after cast removed (10 weeks after my fracture) but the doctor said just a part in the middle of fracture is union but the sides of the fracture didn't union and he told me to move without ankle gel support and start PT. I asked another doctors. One said it is not fully union but you can move and it is ok and it will not broken again if you walk on it. Another one said it can be broken again because it isn't a complete union.

Now I don't know what to do. I searched for a case similar to this case but I didn't find. Just find union and nonunion.

I have pain in the first three weeks after cast removed but it becomes less now in the 4th week. My foot range motion not as before. The stability is less than it was before the fracture. I can walk with some pain but I feel worry and I don't know what to do.

I think it's still healing and when you are comfortable and able to part weight bear or walk do so. The weight bearing helps strengthen the bones but I would still be careful. After a few months you could still see cracks in my fracture and I was told it would heal, but to keep walking on it with care not to fall. I've no idea what's going on with mine now as its nearly 3 years ago. It's confusing to get doctors telling you different things. I would do as much research as possible myself. I would also speak to the surgeon and tell him what the response has been regarding other opinions. Your surgeon should be trusted really. Go back and get another X-ray and see him. Good luck.
