My first day with Symfony ZXR00 multifocal

Hi all
Yesterday I had my cataract removed and the Symfony ZXR00 installed.
Ive got a really high myopia, about -12 both eyes.
I'll do the other eye within a week.
After 24h I can see as I never did at distance, but what is worrying me is the near vision.
After few hours from the surgery, for a couple of hours, I've been reading small prints and it was almost a joke.
You know the very small prints on drugs packages? I read that/
At e distance of exactly 20 inches / 50cm
Then things went back to blurry, I still read at 20 inches but with a lot more stress and less focus.
So my question is do things get better then get worse and get better again ?
The sight at distance is really good.
The other problem, besides the reading one above, is the one-eyed problem.
The other eye is still extremely myopic.
I thought I could use my eyeglasses with only one lent but I was so naive.
I cant. Doesnt work at all.
And of course I cannot put any contact lens because of next Thursday surgery.
All in all top sum up I would list :
EXTREMELY POSITIVES
- brightness went up 150%
- colours went up 150%
its a bit like switching from an old display to a bright new OLED one.
- distance vision perfect after few hours
- no pain whatsoever
IN DOUBT
- near vision at 20 inchesL will it get better?
- very near distance (5-10 inches,) will it get better ?
Ill keep you all updated

I have no direct experience, but would just say that the Symfony (ZRX00) is not a "multi-focal", but is an Extended Depth of Field (EDOF) lens. EDOF lens do not promise to provide good near vision, but aim to provide good intermediate (computer distance) to far vision. While a minority also get usable near vision with an EDOF, most will need to use reading glasses for better near vision with an EDOF.
"Multi-focal" can have different means. Often it refers to older generation of bi-focals. But now, many use the term more generically to include the latest tri-focals which aim to provide good vision at near, intermediate and far.
With any premium IOL (EDOF or tri-focal), it can take days, weeks or even months for vision to fully adjust (really for your brain to adjust). So things should improve over time.

Your points on excellent experiences is common, and the one lens glasses is not surprising. That is why many surgeons like to have the other eye done soon after.
Pretty sure your reading vision will self adjust and improve. Recovery time for your vision to stabilize is about 6 weeks. My close and intermediate vision was good from the start, but distance was blurry. This improved over time. A contributing factor is dry eyes, so I use lubricating eye drops five or six times per day.

Here we are with an update after the second eye surgery, that really scared me.
In fact, first surgery (LEFT) was under 20 minutes.
Second surgery (RIGHT) was just under an hour.
Doctor said it was hard to fix the lens on this one.
The consequence is that after exactly 5 days (RIGHT) and 10 days (LEFT)
LEFT = I see 15/10 at distance and small print at 20 inches. Things get worse closer.
RIGHT = I still have blood spots very visible around the iris and a bit of "edema" as doctor said.
But most importantly I don't see well with the RIGHT eye..
There's like a little spot in the middle of my sight who is like "distorted" and blurry.
To be more clear if I look at the word GLASSES
What I really see is GLA£%&@S, the middle-end part is distorted/blurry
I really don't know the right word to describe this other than distorted/blurry
Doctor said the whole eye is healthy, from macula to the other parts.
After several examinations.
But I'm scared that that distortion and blurriness will stay.
I really hope that distortion is caused by the edema and it will go away.
P.S. : this is exactly the point where some of you will say
"Hey, it's just like that! It happened to me"
I would appreciate anyone who could share her/his similar experience.
