My First Skipped Period
Posted , 6 users are following.
Hi, everyone! I turned 47 on January 15th. My period is now 2 weeks late. Just had a little bit of spotting. This has never happened before!! Could this be the beginning of peri?? I've had all my usual pre- menstrual symptoms ( breast tenderness, stomach cramps, nausea, headache, dizziness and backache). Also dealing with allergy/upper respiratory problems, too! Is this normal? Have any of you guys had or is currently having these issues? Just need a little comfort and reassuring. Sending hugs and healing to all!

Hi KimElaine,
Happy Birthday, a little belated!
I am really struggling with exactly these things right now...
I am on Day 4 of a just-barely-spotting period, and my previous period was about 80 days ago, also just barely spotting.
I felt mostly like myself for at least 60 of those days, but am really really struggling this week.
Migraine affecting head and gut all weekend into Monday.
Mostly normal yesterday.
In allergy hell today...
Dry mouth, itchy eyes and nose, even dry and itchy down into my chest.
And as you say, the 'period flu' symptoms too.
I've taken my temperature and an at-home covid test, both normal.
I understand from hanging out with the awesome ladies here, that this is not unusual.
Hang in there!
Sara

Hi KimElaine,
This could definitely be the start of peri. Mine started with an anxiety attack one week before I turned 47. I'm now 48 and have skipped 2 periods so far. Both times I had the usual symptoms as you described - cramps, backache, etc.
A lot of ladies on here are dealing with allergies - some of them severe. I'm not sure if I have allergies, but my nose is runny every morning from the time I get up for about an hour or two. Sometimes I have a dry mouth and a scratchy throat.
Nothing you described is unusual.
Hang in there and take good care of yourself.

Hi, Dana! It's nice to know, that I'm not the only one living with these symptoms. I recently visited an ENT and they took a scan of my sinuses. Everything is clear except a septal perforation caused by prescription steroid nasal sprays. Be careful using those!! They want me to have an allergy test, but I may just have to live with this sore throat and awful pain around my eyes, ears and face. Plus all my other symptoms. Sending healing prayers to you, Sara and everyone suffering!❤️🙏 Take care. Kim.
