My FSH measured at 190. Tested 4 days later at 197 and estradiol below 20.

These were ordered (wish they hadn't been because they have shocked me) because after my normal cycle (2 weeks prior to test taken) I experienced spotting and freaked out. never expected results like this. even the doctor doesn't have an explanation. normal periods every month except for last year when I tested to a skipped period and all hormones were within range. guess it's baffling than I went from premenopausal with normal periods to "postmenopausal" that quick and with those levels? i wake up in sheer fright every night around 3. then every hour after. can't eat. very confused. I'm 43. no hot flashes. any ideas? i never thought menopause is an overnight thing

youre supposed to be tested day 3-5 of your period i think and one blood test doesnt really mean anything lovely, ive read stories were doctors have told people they were post and then they fell pregnant x

Hormones fluctuate naturally, you can test every day and get different numbers. To be actual post menopause you need to go 1 full year without a period.
I have major health issues going on and seeing an endocrinologist, she's the first doctor I've been to that has tested my hormone levels, not sure where you're from but in the US the docs consider these tests useless. I had a hysto in 2001 but kept my ovaries so up until she did the tests, I had Zero idea where I was in this nightmare. My FSH is 72.98 mIU/mL (Post Menopausal Females 26.72 - 133.41 mIU
/mL)
LH: 38.8 mIU/mL (Postmenopausal Females without HRT 5.16-61.99 mIU/m)
Estradiol: 7.0 pg/mL (Postmenopausal <6.0 - 54.7)
(Every lab will have different "measurement" scales)
They consider me post Menopausal bc of no period but my numbers are mid point, and I'm miserable.
Don't dwell on the numbers, I've been dealing with symptoms for quite a few years now and I just turned 53.. looks like I still have a ways to go before my ovaries decide to give up the fight.
