My girlfriend might be suffering with Endo?

Hello
I think my girlfriend might be suffering with endometriosis. For a few years she has been clinically depressed and on medication for it. She gets sharp pains in her pelvic area, suffers with IBS, back pain, sleeps a lot and has even been spotting this past week which is why I've booked her in at the Dr's. She suffers with agoraphobia and getting her to the Dr's is going to be very tough so I need to make it worth it. In the past all they did was take an ultrasound which only showed she has polycistic ovaries. At one point the pelvic pain was so bad she had to be laid pretty much flat the whole day. It seems to be getting that way again. My point is, how do I get her diagnosed or at least checked for it? They never seem to listen but I need to get to the bottom of this one and for all.
Thank you for listening,

Hello Natasha,
It’s great to see a significant other concerned about this type of issue.
Now to answer your question the doctors never listen. I’ve been having the same thing you just described for years and am just now getting answers because my endo got so bad I now have a softball sized endo on my ovary. This condition isn’t well known and the best advice I can give you is to see an endo specialist. Not an ob/gyn or a primary care dr. There are endo specialist out there and if you honestly believe your girlfriend is suffering from this condition the endo specialist will give you an answer and even point you in the right direction if it’s not endo but another reproductive issue. Any ob/gyn is going to do an ultrasound and the picture quality isn’t good enough to really get a good picture to make a diagnosis. Based on the symptoms I think your girlfriend could have endo or pcos polycystic ovarian syndrome. I hope this helps. Good Luck. Keep me posted 😃

Hi
Sorry for the late reply and thank you for replying!
I think we would have to be referred to an endo specialist here or we would have to pay to go private which we can't afford. Unfortunately we're very poor and in debt which is definitely something else which aggrivates her symptoms.
I'm really struggling to get her to a Dr with her being agoraphobic but hopefully soon we will and I will push for a laparoscopy. Or at least get them to understand that she's suffering and it can't go on!
