My Glan is not looking smooth, its discolored(Since circumcision) and irritation on tip as of now.

Hi everybody.

So to start, my penis glans did not look smooth since i was circumcized at about 11, now im 25, also you can notice on picture some weird bump on foreskin, this is from circumcision the dr said "it should smooth out with time" which didnt but its ok now.

My main target was always trying to get the "uncircumcised" look of glans which is the nice healthy looking smooth and 1 color. But due to friction i think its really hard to achieve such thing when your glans are out rubbing all around your underwear when you do daily tasks and who knows whats happening when i sleep on my stomach and have errection...

Either way, recently i noticed that the tip of my penis (Around urethra) became sort of inflamed? As in a bit red and looking less smoother than other parts which are already not so smooth. It comes and goes, sometimes in mornings it looks more inflamed/bigger and sometimes it looks normal, not sure if its due to some allergy, diet, or friction or something else.

It is only mainly visible when flacid, when errected im happy with its look but only when its flacid its not really good looking.

No any symptom of pain, or tingling or any other sort of discomfort, maybe i feel really thirsty and my lips are dry but it was many months before that irritation occured so i dont think its related.

If i have sexual activity its only with my GF and always with protection.

Did anyone had touch with something similar?

(Side note, I'm using also recently a rubber seal and shea butter, shea butter for my glans and then i pull foreskin and lock it up with rubber seal which makes it sort of forced foreskin to keep it smoother, it worked tiny bit when i started but now i see this, so not sure if its maybe fungi from keeping it moist ? or some wart or i dont know... thats why im asking for help guys)

I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me.

Thank you !

Certainly an interesting technique using the rubber seal! So yes, when you say " i think its really hard to achieve such thing when your glans are out rubbing all around your underwear when you do daily tasks and who knows whats happening when i sleep ... "

So when you use something like SHEA or Coconut Oil you need the tiniest amount of a film that covers the area of skin you wish it to. Saturation, or simply, too much can cause a problem.

Just wondering how long you keep the rubber seal / SHEA combination in place, and, do you do this overnight while you sleep ......?

Hmm maybe because i put really thick layer of so its really moist, but the tip of it is not always covered even with the seal, and recently it became sort of swollen/irritated maybe some wart or something, can it be maybe balantis ? I'm thinking of getting some anti bacterial cream to use it there and see if it improves

I dont put it overnight because i once did and woke up in middle of night with erection and rubber seal stuck tight under my tip... that was sort of painful

Okay, sounds like trial and error, and re-try in a different manner could be an approach with what you are trying to do and achieve. So start with the merest of coatings of the SHEA, if you get no adverse reactions then try a slight bit more - thick layers are simply not required, it is the consistent application on a regular basis that is important - creating or causing distressed skin is the must to avoid.

Balanitis is simply a generic term for irritation of the glans / head, and / or foreskin of the penis - it says nothing about cause or how to address it .....

The antibacterial cream could also cause a problem. You are washing your penis water ONLY .... ?

      Hi

Yes i use shea butter all the time and there was no side effects whats so ever, just recently this irritation around urethrea sort of swollen?

I only use warm water to clean and when showering i pull foreskin over and cover with hand aswell.

      So maybe anti fungal ?

Good approach to take when showering.

I think even if you went to see a Dermatologist they may be hard pushed to give you a definitive answer on what you have going on - the only general suggestion would be to try to do as much as the good stuff for your penile skin as you can. This would mean your foreskin and head / glans having as little contact with as few things as possible, other than water.

When you say anti fungal, do you mean there may be something of a fungal / yeast infection going on .... ?

The thing is, im not sure if its yeast/fungal, to be honest it doesnt look like yeast/fungal related.

My only concern is that recently since about a month, the skin around the urethrea is quite irritated/wrinkly? Especially when the penis is flacid + the weather is cold then it shrinks even more and the penile head looks wrinkly and not so nice, also more irritation/redness on penile head than before, however when its warmer there seems to be more blood in the head and it looks more tighter, especially when its erected then its all good for me.

Maybe i should stop with even shea butter and see how it goes , but then if i don't put anything its super dry.

I am going to post one of my Guides for you as you may pick up some additional useful things to think about and to put into practice.

So, the outlet from the Urethra is termed the Meatus, and yes, resolving the skin issue you have surrounding your Meatus could be difficult without the help of a Dermatologist, or even a Dermatologist that Specialises in Genital Skin Disorders.

What you may have is the ingress over many years of fluids to lower layers of the skin and this is causing the skin not to be as healthy as it should be.

So the approach the tips I am giving you address the skin from the upper level, this will eventually pay benefits even on the head of your penis, but take a great deal of time and is dependant upon no additional irritants further aggravating the skin.

A Dermatologist would prescribe the correct strength steroid application to enable the skin to become healthy again, even this itself could take anywhere between 3 and 9 months.

In terms of the SHEA, try reducing it down to the merest of coatings for about 3 to 5 weeks and see what happens .....

Penile Hygiene, Red Spots, Irritation & What to do

      .

On the head / glans of the penis the most common cause of red spots is something that is causing irritation to the very sensitive skin. For a sexually active male who does NOT use protection the most common cause of irritation is yeast / fungal infection derived from penetrative vaginal sex.

It is also possible to develop a fungal infection without sex, however this is linked to poor hygiene practices and is avoided through regular showering, change of underclothes daily, and for someone who is sportingly active or does gym workouts where sweat is a regular occurrence, then again, sports clothing needs to be changed on a daily basis for freshly washed ones.

After this, irritation can become an accumulative issue, and almost anything in contact with the skin of the glans / head of the penis on a regular basis can cause this. Here, the most common irritant is soap, shower gel, and for someone using condoms regularly, these can also become an irritant. Most often the problem becomes evident when someone changes soap, shower gel, switches to a different brand or type of condom, or uses a different lube for sex or masturbation on the penis.

However, sometimes nothing in particular seems to have triggered the problem, in these instances you quite literally have to exclude everything from contacting the glans / head of the penis - and this includes all the things I have already mentioned, particularly soap and all forms of body wash.

Always use water only to wash the glans / head of the penis - during a shower, do not apply anything to the penis, wash everywhere else on the body first and fully rinse any cleansers from the body. Spend sometime using the running water to fully rinse the entire groin area, and in particular, the glans / head area of the penis. After washing or showering make sure the skin on the entire penis is 100% dry by using a clean dry towel that only you use.

Once you have put the good practices in place, you may not notice any difference for 5 or more months, depending on how long the source of irritation has been experienced by the skin on the glans / head - for many males, the problem is down to an accumulative effect, and even when the sources of irritation are removed, symptoms of irritation such as lumps, bumps and spots can take an extended period of months to completely fade away, of which, 6, 7 or even 8 months is not unusual.

      Thanks, for the reply.

I think i will start not using anything at all on there, no shea butter etc, just clean with water and keep it clean and see if it improved, it is really dry but will just do this for 2 weeks maybe and see how it goes.

By steroids, do you think i could maybe get some low strength steroid cream and use it to be safe and not use the stronger one, and if that doesnt work after month get slightly stronger one ?

      Two things: -

i - very often two weeks will give a totally false impression - penile skin is unlike skin elsewhere on the body, the healing process can often take months to even begin to take place.

Often, many people try the right medication and penile hygiene approaches but do not give it long enough - it is too easy to give up on something that would have worked in the much longer term

ii - I would not recommend self-medicating - the 'base line' to work from is what I described in my last response, this in itself can take an extended period of months for the healing process to take place - complicating this with something that was never going to give benefit anyway, or be too strong are complications to best avoid .....
