I have suffered with indigestion problems for several years now and have been diagnosed with a sliding H.H. My symptoms are always worse at night, whether or not I have anything to eat later than 6.00. I find I have a funny feeling of movement and fluttering just below the right hand side of my ribcage which is most uncomfortable and wakes me. The only way to allieviate this is to stand up (or sit up) and lean forward. This can take a couple of hours before the fluttering stops. I also get the indigestion, but it seems I don't get both symptoms at the same time. It is either one or the other. Anyone else get this fluttery feeling? I am on omeprazole at the moment, which doesn't appear to do very much! Sleepless nights are a norm.

Hello.I have just read your post and sympathise with you.I was diagnosed with a sliding HH in November and was started off on Omperazole-they did aboslutley diddley squat.I am now on Lansoprazole 30mg,and they are better.I hate having this hernia, get really bad stomach aches at night, cough like a wild dog and just hate not being able to eat certain foods.I have had pH acidity tests, barium swallow and am now pushing to have surgery,as i am only late 30's and i want this burden not hanging over me!! Acid reflux is tablet controlled, not that acidic but when its here,my god,do i suffer!!! Please keep everythnig crossed that i get this op done and it works!!!

Chin up.There is an answer out there somewhere??
