My jaw hurts soo much. Do you think its anxiety or something else?

Hi everybody, me again with my 3rd discussion. I'm writing to talk about my jaw pain. On my first discussion, I talked about issues with my jaw about a month after I experienced strange chest pain. My mom and my dentist says it could be TMJ, but I think otherwise. The dentist gave me a nightguard but in my opinion it has not helped me at all. I tried pain relivers such as Advil and Tylenol, I only take them for just one day, and I thought the pain would just go away, but its still there. This is where I googled about jaw pain it gave me the results such as TMJ and heart attack. That just scares me because I'm 24 years old I shouldn't have this condition. It has been hurting for almost a year now and I'm planning to go to the dentist or orthodonist next week. So my question is can anxiety cause jaw pain?

There are loads of benign reasons why your Jaw hurts..Anxiety can cause jaw pain if your tense.

I know in the progressive muscle training for calm mind and body ( 10 mins in bed every day) there are 2 exercises for jaw 's as it is a common place to hold tension even when you dont realise it.

Have a go at some of those.

I found them on you tube. type in guided muscle training for anxiety and work through one.

    It may help.

Good luck .. stop worrying and getting fearful of these thought patterns as that will just feed the anxiety xx

This has been happening to me too! For about a month and a half. I have jaw pain on both sides, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. I've seen doctors and had, blood tests to check cardiac markers, EKG, CT Scans, 3 chest x rays and they said it's all normal! Which reassured me for the time being but every time my jaw starts to hurt, I think I'm having a heart attack.. it's been very hard to deal with because no one has taken me seriously because I'm only 20.

Go to a dentist and they can help you with tmj. They will xray and check your mouth as well. Tmjd is very common with and painful and needs a mouthgaurd to sleep with. This is manageable so dont  worry its real common too, a maxiallary surgeon who specializes in tmjd exist if needed as well. Unsure how long its been so good your going they will also clean your teeth and check for cavities and such. Stay away from chewy foods and gum,
