My left side rib cage is sticking out

I'm still yet to be diagnosed with CP but I have most of the symptoms. Now my rib cage (where that pain is mostly present) sticks out, it's really swollen! Has anyone else had this?
Hope everone is ok.

Hi zach89747, did you ever find out what you left rib condition. I've had the same symptoms and had every test done. All tests show I am healthy and all internal organs good. Docs seem to think it is muscular skeletal because of my line of work and physicl activity. It was getting better and diminishing in size but I just had a bout of chest cold and after a lot of coughing the left rib cage is sticking way out agin and hurting. Thank you.

Hi Jon??😕. I've had similar symptoms since Thanksgiving (2016 couple of months), but the pain level and bulge along my ribs has varied. My diet and how I sleep do seem to directly affect this swolen area. I haven't seen a Dr. because my primary is gone for the holidays. I have an appointment for early Jan. and I hope to get answers and relief. I've completely stopped excercising fearing that I might further aggravate what ever condition I might have. I need answers. Thanks to ever one for sharing and trying to shed some light on this issue.

I've had discomfort in what feels like my left rib cage, under my heart for about a month now. It moves around, sometimes my back or side also bother me in the same general area. Today I noticed slight swelling where the pain is, as well. If anyone gets answers about what might be causing this (I have an abdominal ultrasound scheduled but haven't gone yet) I'd appreciate them sharing.

I have the same symptoms and have had xrays, ct-scans and nothing
shows up yet the swelling is worse and mt rib cage is asymmetrical with the left side protruding. When I lean over to the left I get a sharp pain. I will continue to pursue. What is CP?

Just wonder if anybody has any updates on the diagnosis? It seems very strange so many of us with similar symptons that are so evident yet without a cause.
I am going through the same situation, left rib pain and protruding that is worse when laying down.
Pain on the back and shoulder blades. Diagnosed with IBS after MRCP, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, X-ray and Complete blood test. I have now booked a colonoscopy to investigate the bowel.
Has anybody seen an orthopedist? The only thing I can associate in my case is a injury on my left rib about 4 years ago while surfing that took me 4 months to improve, which i never investigate. The question is why it took 3 years for the Rib to start to stick out and gradually slowly?
I also have developed another symptons like strong fatigue, lighteadness, ocasioally sharp headaches and weight loss. Those are very worrying symptons but the doctors just keep repiting their mantra that all my tests are ok.
I thought it could be CP but even my gastro said with wasnt. How can i test for CP? Pancreas Elastase?
I have done amylise and its ok.
Lets get together find out what is taking our sleep and life away.
Tiago.

Hi Jon, I don't claim to have any answers. But I'm a chiropractor that has been in practice over 20 years. And I have found some interesting correlations to abdominal pains, constipation, IBS like symptoms and left rib pain. I'm not quite sure why it happens all I know is that it happens as it is musclular. My suggestion is start to ice the left rib area. 20 min on and 20 min off a couple times per day. Also I suggest you try to stretch out the left rib area gently. My suggestion is to take a couple of pillows and lay on them on your side with your right side up. It might hurt at first but then after doing it for a couple days it should get easier. But more important you will find it is easier to take a deep breath in while on your side. I have found that this is the key. You need to gentle stretch the right side. If this too painful ice the left rib area every day until it's tolerable. I have my theories why. And we can discuss them later. Hope this helps.
