I have been experiencing pain in my leg and my leg and foot is swollen . I was shot in my leg last year and I have a metal plate with screws in my leg I have never experimented this before until now . What could this be ?

I don't know but it sounds like you need to see a doctor, swelling in the leg and foot could mean anything.

Have you gone to a doctor to find out if you now have a kidney disorder. Or diabetes. Both can cause swollen ankles. Kidney disorders cause proteinuria, so your urine is tested. Diabetes is found on a blood test.
Hopefully, you don't have these disorders.
Maybe a doctor will discover why you are swelling (edema) in your ankles. This is not normal.
