My legs suddenly stopped working for a minute, but I don't know why?

I'm a healthy woman in my mid-twenties and I've never experienced anything like this before.

I woke up around at around 03.00 am to go to the bathroom. I stood up and took one step, but then my legs suddenly gave out and I fell on my knees. I quickly tried to stand up, but I couldn't. I sat on my knees for a minute, then everything was fine and I could walk again.

My legs felt a bit weak, but I didn't feel any numbness or tingling sensations. My boyfriend suggested that maybe I'd lost some blood flow to the legs, but it didn't feel that way to me. I got quite panicked when it happened.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? Should I be worried?

you was not fully awake and your legs was still asleep if you understand some parts of the brain that control the legs took longer to wake up its happened to me before but when i was younger

This is not something to put off. You need to talk to your doctor and schedule an appointment. My right leg has done that before but it was because of a bad knee that needed replaced. Don't let the doctor just dismiss this and say why it happened he doesn't know . Demand answers or send you go to someone who can give you answers. Good luck .

Yeah I think that maybe it could be sleep paralysis, but I'm worried whether it there is something wrong or that it could be something else. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. I think it'd be great to speak to my GP but I hate to be a bother and I wouldn't want to waste their time.

I'm worried about falling again. My right thigh has begun feeling very weak. I've tried massaging it and using a cold pack but nothing seems to help. It has that similar 'dead' feeling when I fell after waking up, but I can walk okay, though I don't feel comfortable putting lots of weight on it.

Either way, it's reassuring to hear that it's not uncommon and I appreciate the info 😃
