My life is crumbling...

My long term boyfriend left me about 2 months ago. I was distraught and ended up getting drunk and sleeping with someone. We used protection. About a month later, my ex and I get back together intimately. 3 days ago we had sex everywhere and it was aggressive. I thought I had a bunch of microtears (I get those a lot) and a yeast infection. I put apple cider vinegar on my vagina (per internet request) and now I have what looks like blisters/burns on my vagina. Now I'm panicking because I don't know if the apple cider vinegar caused that or I have herpes. I was test two years ago and only have been with that one man as well as that one night stand. Is it possible I contracted this a month ago from that one protected sex night? My ex told me he hasn't been with anyone else, and I believe him. Or is it possible the apple cider vinegar burned my mucosa?

I suggest you get tested. It's better to know for sure. Also, as I had read before condoms don't necessarily prevent the spread of herpes. I still suggest to get tested because even if you irritated that area it might be best for a doctor to prescribe antibiotics. It might be nothing but testing is definently the best option.

Thank you for replying. I do have an appointment tomorrow (it's the soonest I could get in). I just didn't know if it was possible if you could burn your mucosa or if I should just suck up that I probably have herpes. I told my ex boyfriend it might be herpes and now I think that relationship is long lost.... I made a mistake and lost the best thing in my life and will now probably have a lifelong virus. I also am autoimmune so I worry with that.

Just try your best to be positive in this situation. I know it's tough. There are two types of herpes though. HSV1 and HSV2 which both are very different hsv1 is more known that we all got as children and is apparently common that woman will have the outbreak orally and in the genital region. Right now just wait to take the tests. Take it a day at a time. (:

Thank you so much for your positivity, I'm just really struggling looking at the "bright side" of things. I have been reading a lot of the different types and I have no idea what to believe (in regards to incubation and such) I just feel so gross and unworthy of love... I know this is a common virus, but the way my downstairs feels right now... I wouldn't touch me with a 10ft pole...

Hey I understand how you feel, but don't be too hard on yourself. You are worthy of love. As to whether or not it could be genital herpes, it would be impossible to diagnosis from just what you say, like the other users suggested, it's important to get tested to help put your mind at ease. From what you said I personally think you irritated your area with having it torn + the apple cider vinegar. People don't really realize it but it can be kind of abrasive for the skin, especially with a tear: since you said you tear down there often, that means that area is sensitive and the ACV might have irritated it. Do you think you can post a picture so we can see?
Good luck, I hope you get the results you want.

Thank you. Tomorrow cannot come soon enough. I work midnights tonight and am a single mom. It's going to be a long night. I didn't know you could post pictures on this forum. It's day two and already the inflammation has gone down. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, but the "blisters" now look whitish. Maybe they're healing? There are just a few lesions that have the "cratered" look that I'm worried about. I only have about 4 affected areas but my labia is inflammed. I did hold a soaked ACV towel on the area for about 10minutes. I honestly had no idea how common genital herpes was.
