The favourite part of my day is going to bed and forgetting about my broken foot, the cumbersome cast and my inability to do normal every day things.

I am almost 3 weeks out after my operation from breaking my left ankle in 3 places and left foot in 3 places... I can relate to forgeting about all the inabilities and challenges at night.  Though I still have some pain and elevate it at night... I have started a gratitude journal and hope things get better every week...

Hi Peggy! I am so sorry for your injuries and hope you get better soon. After all you have been through and are going through, you are still able to be grateful! I try to remember what to be grateful for and it does make a positive difference. Also, when I start dwelling on my injuries, I mentally put my worries in a box and send it away. I still look forward to night time, but dread staying awake in the morning. I do make myself stay awake starting at 8am. However, I find myself napping throughout the day in my chair, but I give myself permission to do so. If I find myself focusing on negative thoughts; I do my best to push them away. I must be patient and take each day as it comes. Here is hoping that we both heal soon.
