My lovely experience of PR

Well, just thought that, after reading this, and perhaps feeling a little reassured that I ain't suffering alone, I hoped by sharing my current experience, might help someone else, like all of you have helped me.

I noticed a few small patches about 2 weeks ago. Since then it is like an explosion on my body! The buolk of it is on the trunk (as most have stated) though it is on my ankles, legs and (though not alot) on my arms. I have to admit to being very down about it and worried before consulting the doctor. However, she seemed to know what it was straight away and told me to not worry about it. Being a qualified worrier, I immediately looked it up on the net, perhaps foolishly, but hungry to know what i could do about it, i couldnt resist looking. However, I'm hoping it doesnt go to the extent that some of the pictures i have seen show me. Certainly won't feel good then!

I'm am now gonna try alot of the things mentioned on here (thanks all!) and with a bit of luck it will go. I hope im not the only person who thinks that the doctor just \"could\" be wrong and it is something else! I'm trying to worry less as I'm sure that won't help and being an eczema sufferer, if it's anything like that, stress makes it WAY worse! I do have a wonderful moisturiser that i have been advised to use plentifully (Double Base) as it usually does wonders with my other skin issues!

My slight concern is that i do have a patch on the sole of one of my feet. This presents me with a problem as most places say you dont get it on the soles or palms. However, my doctor says that it is PR so I'm running with that!

I will post again when it has gone and let ya all know what i did and if anone finds it useful, then thats great!

Good luck to anyone else with this vile virus!

After going to the docs this morning, I found out I had PR. Noticed a few spots 2 weeks ago, thought nothing of it, but then spent Christmas freaking out at the alarming spread of the rash and worrying about what the **** it was!

Been itchy and have felt extremely tired - seems to be the only 'ill' symptoms. Alarmed that it takes 6 weeks to clear - hope I don't feel tired for that length of time.

Got all the stuff to help with the spots - glad it's not the weather for strappy tops, cos they sure is ugly! smile

There seem to be an awful lot of people being diagnosed with PR recently... or maybe just more people are finding this forum.. still, it's worrying.

Hi Leej_1981. I've never heard of anyone saying it's on the sole of their feet, but if it's PR, it doesn't follow any rules. My doctor was [i:350c1b056f]adamant [/i:350c1b056f]I had ringworm because my herald patch was on my forearm and according to him, they only ever appeared on the trunk  Of course, 4 weeks of using anti fungal treatment proved otherwise.

Sorry to hear you're suffering the 'illness' that comes with it, Shona. I had a couple of bad days where I felt very tired or very itchy, but mostly I was symptom free.

Like you say, at least it's so cold outside we have to cover up anyway! New Look has a massive range of polo necks (some long sleeved) at the moment so if you're stuck for a new years outfit it's worth a try! I got one jumper and 3 tops, I've been living in them!

If you go back through the threads on here you'll see how long it can last etc.. I'm [i:350c1b056f]almost [/i:350c1b056f]clear now, after 3 months (2 with full blown PR).

Hope this horrible thing hasn't spoiled your Christmases; have a very happy new year and get better soon.
