My mother died this week. She was my best friend and I will miss her very much. She smoked most of her life and although she gave up smoking twenty years ago she died a miserable death with COPD. She was on oxygen and could not cross the room without being totally short of breath. I'm told that I nagged her from the age of three to give up smoking. I wish she had listened. Your website was most informative

    im sorry 2 hear about your mum passing away. my mum died in 2004 of copd. she 2 had poor quality off life. as i am only 29 now i miss her so much and wished i could of made her quit smoking 2, its such a terrible disease.

    Hi,

    I am so sorry that both of you lost your Mothers. My family nagged me to quit smoking, but I wouldn't listen. Then 12 years ago I got TB and was left with COPD but for awhile still tried to smoke and was getting one chest infection after the other. Then I knew it was time to give it up. It wasn't easy but I did it and am so pleased that I did as if I hadn't I don't think I would be here now.

    Hi,

    I am really sorry to hear about your loses. My mother too is in the last phase of COPD, and dread the day the inevitable happens.

    I am 28, but have enjoyed the last few years with my parents, which I find very comforting. I hope you too can find that comfort.

    My condolences go to you both, I hope you are well.

    hi im sorry to here about your experience im goin threw it now with my nan shes 67 years old i care for her every day its terrible seing them deterating day by day it breaks my heart i now its not a very nice question but how do you now any one please when its at the end as im frightened of losing her and dont now what to expect my nan is on a nippy machine 24 hours she comes of it now and again for a drink can somebody please reply i would be very grate full thankyou for taking time to read this[color=red:5ab8f19b4f][/color:5ab8f19b4f]

    hi, i am sorry to hear of your loss, copd is a cruel condition. my father died of copd in january this year and he had battled for two years. he was / is my best friend. all i can say it does get easier in time but its a long journey. think of all the good times & be positive. emma
