My mother is causing me anxiety! What do I do?

So for many years now, I have been led by an overbearing mother, frightened to say or do anything wrong otherwise I would be shouted at and made to feel guilty. Over the last year or so, I have been told to take my belongings and go, and to remember to post my key through the door once I leave. This was only the tip of the iceberg. I am now 22 and still unable to say anything without fearing the consequences. For example, Just now I have my mother staring at me from across the room, telling me to lighten up, that I’m always unhappy and that she has a low tolerance for moods... I only said I was hungry. It is like walking on eggshells and I don’t know what to do anymore. I get belittled on a daily basis, and she looks for any small excuse to start an arguement with me. I don’t have any I can speak to and fear that I’m getting into a depressive state because of this, all I want to do is cry and sit on my own. Help.

You've got to take control of the situation at some point

If your situation is really as bad as what you say and it is and it is affecting your health, you really need to speak to someone professionally . The only thing I suggest is that you contact one of the following organizations where you will get good guidance:
The Samaritans
The Mix
Supportline
Young Minds
Centrepoint
I wish I could help you more.
Take care
