My new chair arrived today!

After deliberating for ages & taking advice from this site, I took the plunge & bought a recliner/riser chair. It was delivered today & it's fantastic! The riser part of it is brilliant, when fully risen you are almost standing up so I shouldn't have any problems with the 90deg rule. The foot part of the recliner also doesn't come too far up. I'm really pleased with it & it's so comfy - I think I'll be able to sleep in it!

Terrific! I got a recliner like that delivered a couple of weeks ago, and it has been the best. I will be having another surgery at some point, and I know it will be so helpful. You will love yours, I'm sure. I, too, am hoping to be able to sleep in it post-op.

Must have just missed your post - I have been out on a 4 mile country walk without sticks, and some of it was not proper footpaths, just tracks beside fields - it took me just 100 minutes, so I'm pleased with that.

Posting photos, if you have one available is easy, just click on the "sun over the mountains" icon (next to Bold, Italic and Smiley), and select the photo.

Isn't is great when we make a decision and it turns out to be the right one? Sounds like it will pay for itself many time over.

I didn't use my brain cells and bought a manual recliner .  I wasn't sure I'd be able to use it because you need your legs to push down on the footrest to close it.  The first thing I did when I got home from hospital was ask my friends to hang on while I practised with my non-op leg.  It was fine.  I had been practising pre-op with my good leg but you don't you if everything will work the same, I thought my pelvis may be sore.  It has been wonderful although I do wish I'd gone for the electric.  I'd buy another but my lounge is quite small.  If the time ever comes when I need my other hip doing though I'll get an electric one.

Hi Cels, hope you are doing OK. My lounge looks really cluttered now we've squeezed the recliner in but we're having a new conservatory at the end of the year so my plan is to put it in there & it will be my sun/reading room whilst hubby has sport on the telly! X
