My operated leg looks like it has a rash!

Posted , 5 users are following.

Its almost 6 weeks since my op, and things are progressing well. But my operated leg now seems to be covered in a slightly red rash. Its not itchy, not swollen, painful or hot  (Ive taken 5 weeks worth of blood thinners and still wearing the TED stocking)

Has anyone else had this?d

It could be slight bruising.  I had some bruising, sort of patchy red down my calf and black round my knee and blue round my ankle, quite colourful really, but this happened at about 3 weeks post op if I remember rightly.  Don't know whether anyone else can advise on it.  Sorry can't be of more help.

    Hi

may be a quick phone call to surgery. If you are wearing stockings do you think the leg is getting over heated as we have been having very warm weather here.  Thank goodness I only had blood thinners as the stockings seem a nightmare.

    good luck

Hi, I removed my TED stocks (and suspenders lol) at the four week mark and also had for a few days the same as you. At the time I was on after the regular tum anti clog jabs one tablet of aspirin so was concerned but after four days the redness went after continued exercise and showers. So I think for me the TED were causing a skin irritation. But to make sure have a word with your quack. Am now 7 weeks and slowly progressing and happy in life. Keep well and best wishes.

I had the same rash on my leg too!

It seemed like it went away once the swelling went down
