My period didn't come

Hello I wrote on here a couple of times as I have had two scans showing ovarian complex cysts on right ovary.they are watching and waiting and I have another scan on 15th.my issue now is I was due on my period last Monday spotted Monday nothing Tuesday and spotted thur/fri.it was hardly anything I am usually very heavy for 7-8 days with clots up most of night for two nights so this period has been very new to me. could it be caused by the cysts?i have been extremely worried about all this for weeks and weeks could stress maybe have changed it or now Im thinking I'm 49 soon could it be the start of the perimenopause.i read someone put on here go and see your gp if you don't bleed during your period and its worried me as I do have 3 small complex cysts. can anyone reassure and give advice please many thanks in advance Michelle x

    Hi michelle I am 45 & peri menopausal. The reason my dermoid cyst was discus eyed was because I had a scan as I'd had mid cycle bleeding. That was 18 months ago & I've had 3 of those mid bleeds again. They're like a four day mini period.

    So I think sometimes knowing the cyst is there makes you think all other symptoms are caused by it. But in my case I know my body is sadly just 'changing'!

      Yes I agree as I know I have these cysts but probably have for years but only recently discovered I assume these are causing my problems.im at the Des waiting right now waiting to ask for hormone tests as I know I'm at that age where periods are going to go wrong I will let you know later what he says.im nearly 49 and things will start to go wrong cos of my age lol xx

      Did you have your dermoid removed? My cysts from Novembers scan to January's scan showed no increase in size,so have left me for another 8 weeks for a scan.i am very anxious so worry it's the cysts causing my period problems where in fact they probably are not and its my age lol !!xx
