My pityriasis rosea is going away after 1 month and a half

Hi like many of you I was desperate to have this skin condition go away after a consultation with my doctor she told me I had Pityriasis Rosea, and that I just had to wait it out and gave me steroid cream for the itch as it was hard to sleep at night. I also had blood work done so I would recommend to get checked. I had a vitamin D deficiency so I think there might be some relation with that as many people say sun bathing works for them. She prescribed me vitamin D 50,000 units pill just once a week. I didn't want to create another health risk by using a tanning bed bed but I did consider it.  So I proceeded to se a Chinese Doctor he gave me 3 things to take and also told me that it has to do with your immune system so to stay away from white breads, processed foods, no peanuts, and no sea food. I have been on a strict diet ever since, I mean whatever is gonna help Im willing to try. These are the 3 things that he gave me;

-Glutathione Accelerator- to take one pill after break feast, lunch and dinner

-Reishi Extract luiquid- Its a Japanese product that comes from mushroom take 10 drops morning and night.

-Mango-Xan- Its a purple bottle which is mangosteen juice I take 2 table spoons morning and night.

I have been drinking this for the past week and a half and its finally going away they are all drying out. He told me to take this for 2 weeks.  I was also putting tea tree oil on them to dry them out and using tea tree oil Defense soap because initially i thought it was a fungus. I hope this can help some of you I paid 150 dollars for those 3 products from a doctor in Chinatown in Los Angeles, but Im sure online you can find them cheaper. If you have a good Chinese doctor I would recommend to visit them as all the products they give you are natural some give you tea's to drink which was gonna be my second option to try the teas but so far this is working. If you need a picture of the products Im willing to post it! smile Goodluck!

    I am so pleased it's clearing up for you, I went to visit my Chinese doctor but she is away until after Christmas so I have weeks left, I'm nearing the end of my 2nd month and I've tried everything, anti dandruff shampoo, tanning, exfoliating, vitamin c and zinc supplements, nappy rash cream, aloe Vera gel, part of me just thinks it will go when it's ready and there's nothing I can do about it, I can't stand to look at myself or let my partner touch me, I'm not sleeping and Im sick of wearing the same s**t day in day out trying not to show my skin. It's just spreading more and more! I've ordered prreze cream and that won't get to me until January 6th. I guess I must have done something pretty bad to deserve this!

    Would you say there's one thing in particular that worked for you or do you think its the full combination?

      I think it was a combination of everything including a clean diet. I just came back from a trip to Cancun and being in the beach and water really helped, they have all cleared up now I just have color discoloration but my skin feels smooth again. Im not sure which product he gave me worked the best because I took them together.  Each one serves a different purpose so taking them all together I think helped. I totally understand your frustration I cried two nights because I felt so depressed about it and so uncomfortable to go out and the itchiness was so annoying. I also didn't even let me boyfriend touch me and I showed him until it was getting better as I was embarrassed of it. It was even annoying to go out and eat because I had to get salads every time I didn't want to trigger anything to make them worse.

    Excellent! The normal course of PR is 6 to 12 weeks, so you are on the shorter side of the list!

      Yeah I definitely got lucky to have it on the shorter side it's just so odd that there is no cure or maybe not enough research on it.

    I had never heard of this before but one day ...it must be over 20 years ago...I had the most awful itchy rash...over my back and from my elbows to wrists..and from my thighs to knees...it looked like I had fallen in a bed of nettles...the itch was so intense that it made me cry....G P sent me to a skin specialist 5 weeks after it started and by this time it was starting to go away...specialist told me what it was and said it takes 6 weeks to run it's course..also said it wouldn't come back...but he asked me it there was anything troubling me at that time as he seemed to think worry was a factor in causing it...thankfully it didn't come back...
