My PR has nearly gone after a month after rash - reassurance for others

I started with a herald patch (diagnosed as ringworm) and then 2-3 weeks later gradually came out with an all over body rash which was much worse than when i had chicken pox! It took a week before new spots stopped appearing and then it started to  itch unbearably and i looked so scabby i couldn't believe i would ever look normal again! It seemed to get worse before it got better - the spots started as tiny red bites that grew into large pink spots which then slightly blistered, dried up and flaked off - this took about a month in all. They are now completely healed but my skin looks discoloured and blemished. All in all i would say i have had it 8 weeks from the start of the herald patch. I took antihistamine and washed in head and shoulders clinical strength for the first week and then the rest is just giving it time. I also felt very tired and had a slightly sore throat and a few very nasty headaches. I hope i don't get it again!

Great info. Thanks! The more detailed stories there are, the better we know what people go through. Don't worry on those discolorations, they will fade to skin color in a few weeks!

Hi.....I had pityriasis rosea 2 years ago. I was riddled with it. It was a living nightmare. But 3-4 weeks in....I jumped on a sunbed, and it was gone within 4 days!!!!

It's now back again, so I've been having just 4 minutes on the sunbed every 2 days. My herald patch got no bigger than a 10 pence piece.....and is fading away. And most importantly, NO RASH😀.....in places it was on the way.....i could feel it trying to come

...and could see it in places very faintly.....but It soon dissapeared.

I've now successfully got rid of it twice

    Xxxx
