My protocol thus far! Starting to see positive changes!

I just thought it would be good to list all the things I have discovered over the last 6 weeks since joining this group, and ingredients Ive been using over the last 4. The goal is to share my experience and invite all to do whatever works for them, and also I find it therapeutic to write down what Im doing, figure I might as well share. I am excessive so Im basically trying everything someone talks about where there is success, then adding and adding. Im not a good editor! I will say I feel better physically and psychologically and Im starting to see small but happy changes!

Background: diagnosed by biopsy with LS 2003, 48. Always had a hormone imbalance, low estrogen for last 4 years, chronic anxiety and insomnia. Had itching the first few years while being a major carb and sugar loader, used Clobetasol often, some years of remission without doing anything, a few years later anatomy started simplifying and some white, the last 2 years a big change - atrophy, skin fusing together on top blending inner/outer labia, very white pearly areas on top all the way around fading towards the bottom. I started freaking out and using clobetasol again, it didn't work even after 3 months, in fact it was worse. I was searching desperately online for a group, and found a blog by an LS sufferer, I was desperate so I bought her stuff, have been using it for almost 1 month, thought it wasn't working then over the last 7 days the white patches are starting to fade to a lighter more transparent whitish pink and the skin looks more plump and happy. While starting that, I found this group, and also started with bicarbonate (see below).

Diet/lifestyle:

- No gluten or dairy

* exceptions: organic unsweetened quark, skyr or yogurt 3x/week as a probiotic, occasional treat of goat cheese or grass fed butter, and I do eat organic eggs regularly but considering trying giving them up since they are dairy

- No processed food 95% of the time

- Limited red meat and when possible pasture raised/organic

- good quality chicken, turkey and fatty fish

- no real sugar (except the occasional moody monthly splurge) and mixed fruit 4 times per week with my probiotic yogurt

- lots of omega 3 rich nuts like walnuts, brazil nuts and hazelnuts

- organic beans (canned cannelloni/gigantic are my fave)

- red and white wine, limiting to 4x per week and goal is to limit to only weekend - sorry babes, not giving it up!

- unsweetened almond or oat milk in my coffee

- brightly colored vegetables steamed, grilled, boiled (organic when available)

- traditional chinese or japanese acupuncture: they focus on meridien lines and organ blockages. LS is considered by some a liver deficiency, this has helped me immensely with my stress/condition

- 3-4x per month strong foot and lower leg massages (i go to Tui Na which is chinese massage and its cheaper) they all believe the feet are the pathway to all organ health, if you cant afford to do this, find a buddy and exchange foot massages! It helps your lymphatic system and this is all directly connected to organ health - remember skin is an organ!

1. Sodium Bicarbonate concentrated solution with water and a few drops of tea tree oil in a small spray bottle that I shake and apply to skin almost every time after a trip to the bathroom - feels good! Its also really made a difference in my skin color in the last 8 days of using it. I plan to try adding a borax solution when back in the states.

2. restore natural oil blend by the lady up above with the blog. You can research her ingredients and make your own version too but I apply hers with a dropper and my finger every time Im itching and it feels amazing and is helping me a lot.

3. My own solution that I vary every week depending on what Im reading on line thats working for others, its all trial and error:

Carrier oil mix: in a small tupperware box, all or any combination of:

- Castor Oil (great thick texture)

- Coconut Oil (feels like a skin food, but can be drying)

- Organic olive oil (sometimes I leave this out)

- today thanks to postings, Ive added 98% aloe vera to the mix!

Essential oil mix: (all or any combination of)

- peppermint (just a few drops like 5 or 6, amazing potent stuff)

- lavender oil (a few more than the peppermint as some use a cap full)

- tea tree oil (5 or 6)

- lemon grass oil (2-3) still exploring but is healing, smells great)

Bonder:

- to bond it all together, the coconut oil helps when solid but I also add a small amount of sodium bicarbonate and mix it all together, you could probably use borax too (not boric acid!)

I would say I apply #2 about 5 times a day but morning and late night are most important, #1 about 6x a day and #3 when I feel like changing it up a bit, maybe once a day. Try to give it 30 minutes before using the bathroom so these concoctions have time to soak into the skin. I have not done sits baths and haven't needed it, but open to trying.

I also clean with cetaphil but dont like the ingredients and am considering only using my own concoction.

Sorry for the novel - hope this helps!

That’s a lot to take in Lynn but making changes gradually. Can I ask something please? I haven’t just problems in vj area, I have also burnt inner thighs groin and bum cheeks. Have you heard of this before. I’m so bad I can’t walk without pain and am waddling around as if I have a balloon between my knees! It’s anything but gummy and I was in a great deal of pain from these raw areas until this morning. I stopped using Dermol lotion to wash and moisturise with and used sudocrem instead. Inside I’m using virgin coconut oil from yesterday. It’s a little cooler now but all still very confusing . My diet hasn’t changed except for less sugar. Had this happened to anyone else please? Yes rosemary- I am. I plan to start editing soon once I get a better sense of what’s working more and what’s working less. But for now I’m trying to make this fun, exploring different things...

Lynn- thx for the update, it’s good to hear what others are trying and how they are working. I have been trying dfferent creams available commercially and keeping track of what worls and how they smell, etc. ( one cream smelle like marinating steak and a glass or merlot....must be the grapeseed oil).

Btw- While eggs are, indeed, produced by animals and, therefore, an animal byproduct, they are not a dairy product or a derivative of dairy products. A dairy product refers to a product of the mammary glands of mammals such as cows, goats, sheep and others, and the products made from them, like milk, cream, and butter.
