My recipe for somewhat success with PR

I'll give you some background on how this whole PR experience came to be... I'm a 25 year old female who lives in the U.S. and I've never experienced a rash of this magnitude (not even chicken pox) before this whole ordeal. I work in a coal burning power plant so when my mother or herald patch first arrived I assumed it was some sort of bug or spider bite. The reason I thought this was because the patch appeared on my side on my ribs where I have a small owl tattoo and the patch was dead center of the tattoo which made it hard to inspect. It itched somewhat and felt dry and bumpy to the touch so I thought nothing of it until a week or so later when it showed no signs of going away.
I then started to get the rest of this wonderful rash soon after. I showed my mother who is a nurse and she thought that maybe I had contracted something from the tanning booth that I had recently went to (ironic) and advised me to use calamine lotion and discontinue tanning. I followed this advise but to no avail and the rash began to take over my stomach area, chest, upper thighs, under my arms, and some areas of my back. I was miserable! I itched like crazy and began to lose some of my appetite and felt like I could sleep for days! I started taking oatmeal baths with Aveeno Eczema & Oatmeal Bath packets and it brought minor relief. Once I started researching I quickly realized it was PR. I had never heard of this condition before but since there is no cure I decided to forgo seeing the doctor and take matters into my own hand and I have shown great signs of the rash finally letting up. Keep in mind this is now 2 months in but I went to the drug store just a few days and started stocking up...
I purchased Head & Shoulders in the maximum strength (Its a dark bottle and the shampoo itself is orange) I do not scrub my skin but I do lather up and leave this on my skin the entire duration of my shower which I keep at a luke warm temperature. I also use diaper rash cream that contains zinc oxide when I get out of the shower and I let my skin air dry before applying and if my skin gets a little dry from the cream I will apply Aveeno moisturizing cream since it is non scented and natural. I've started taking milk thistle, garlic, and L-Lysine (people say they've had good results with products that kill the herpes simplex virus and I've always praised L-Lysine vitamins any time I've devolped a cold sore) in addition to my regular multi vitamin and a generic plain allergy pill to help relieve some of the itch. Since I feel like in my case PR is hurting my immune system, I've also been drinking Emergen-C Vit-C packets daily and they actually aren't too awful to taste. In my situation anytime I become overheated the rash flares up with vengance and the itch is almost intolerable so I was hesitant to try the tanning booth for relief but I decided that since everyone on the web says this is the main cureall for PR, I opted to get in a stand up booth for 10 min so that way I won't be sweating as badly and getting as overheated and so far I've done this twice and I've had great results! The only complaint I have with this and I hope someone will back me up, is that I feel like I'm starting to get hyperpigmentation on some of the spots so now they're a lot lighter than my actual skin tone.
I've only just begun this whole (long and extensive) routine but it seems to be working better than I had hoped! It is without a doubt a commitment to remember to do all these things daily but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make this whole experience a memory. I've read so many forums on here and other sites that have helped me learn all these techniques and I couldn't be more grateful! I hope to not end up one of the cases that lasts for a year or years so I'm going to keep hunting and continue praying for a cure for PR. I hope my suggestions come in handy for at least one person because I know all of yours have certainly been a god send for me!
