My retina doctor wants to use a laser to treat my macular degeneration and I worry

I have been going to a retina doctor for a few years and taking Eylea with good results, that means it is correcting the effusions that occur with this disease and that is fine. Now he also wants to use a laser and burn the place where the leak is happening. This concerns me because it may cause blind spots. He likes to try theories to see how my eyes might improve. A few months ago I had my injections every other month and now he wants to try do do them every month and I worry about the side effects of Eylea if I take them more frequently, anyone know about this?

if your situation is under control, why your doctor wants to do surgery? Any reason?

That laser treatment was used on each eye because some doctors still use this even when Eylea shots keep the eyes from getting worse. The doctor thought it would stop the disease each time he did the treatment, but it did not happen. And the problem is that the laser left a spot that that luckily the brain ignores. I have been using Eylea since the start of 2016 and I will remain on that. The Institute of Birmingham UK has developed and is testing drops that will replace Eylea if it continues to work. Then if FDA approves it all we will have to do is use those daily drops. Lets hope so.
