My son has this

He has been diagnosed at the dr with it and is in his 2nd week of it. He has the bigger splodges but he seems to be coming out in smaller dot like things - is this normal ?
Have bought some aloe vera gel with T tree in it for his skin hoping that it will moisturise it and also kill the the rash - Holland & Barratt said it would help. Since the sun has been out he has had his shirt off and been in the garden for 10 mins at a time. Any other ideas that may help - he is 14 and very embarrassed about it - he is self conscious about his body at the best of times !

I think the little spots that are coming up are normal as they seem to be popping up all over my body at the moment. I've had mine for 2 weeks now and the docs said it will get worse before it gets better
I've also heard that a shampoo called Selsun is meant to work but i haven't had a chance to get some yet. UV light is meant to be the best so i'd say the more time he can spend in the park the better.
I defo know how he must be feeling as i'm 25 and don't even want to come out of the house!!

My 7 year old daughter has had this rash on and off since November. It itches but otherwise doesn't bother her. It cycles, and each new cycle adds a new area that is affected. The pediatric dermatologist made 4 different diagnosis, the last one was a nemmulat dermatitus, but the photos and info on the internet show that is is really pityariasis rosea. The moisturizer we got with menthol seems to help a bit, and so does swimming and being in the sun.. We are getting a prescription for erythromiacin, a type of penicillin, tomorrow. It has worked for other people, and we hope it will finally end her bout (this is typically supposed to last 4-6 weeks, but we are at 10 months and still affecting more areas all the time).
