the left was in february, and the right was in august. It was started as one scar, then two scars, then  three and then getting wider and thicker. Have been to doctors here in Indonesia and also Singapore with no clear explanation, the last doctor in SG diagnosis was that it is a scar and caused by the eye developing too much oil and caused it to become hard item and scratch the eye.

anyone encounter similar and how to prevent even further growing scars

Hi henglie123, I have a couple of questions:

    1) when was the last time your son's eyes were examined by an ophthalmologist in SG? and at which eye centre such as SNEC, NUH or KK Eye Centre?

    2) before the scars appeared, was your son wearing contact lenses, or had eye infections, eye injuries, etc ?

      Dear Jantje32476,

      Thank you for your response:

      1. 4 months ago in Novena Eye Surgeon and I just brought him this weekend to KL, two center: Vista Eye Specialist and also International Specialist Eye Center. Still were not able to determined the root cause of it. The doctor in Vista was suspecting it might be Fungal Conjunctivitis and refer to Cornea Surgeon in ISEC, but the doctoer in ISEC ruled that out since otherwise it will be more damaging since it has been 1.5-2 years.

a week prior to my KL trip my son had a red eye and itchy so i brought him to JEC (Jakarta Eye Center). The doctor’s diagnosis was VKC (vernal kertaconjunctivitis).

My suspicion is that the JEC doctor were able to detect it since i brought him at the symptoms (red eye and itchy), in the past i have brought him to many doctors but at non-symptoms condition.

But still I am not sure what caused it since i have been to 5-6 doctors now with no clear diagnosis except that last one in JEC (VKC).

      2. No, he is not wearing contact lenses. Prior of the scars are interminent redness and itchy, sensitive to light (once every week or two)

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply my messages. I am desprately need some advices.

See an ophthalmologist eye MD for a specific diagnosis. Need to protect eyes from dust and UV rays, as sun damage and conjunctival cyst are common. Links are in your inbox.

      Take care.
