My story in brief

Hope you are all well. I haven't been on here for what seems like years and the reason for this is... I'm feeling great.

For half my life I was plagued with terrible anxiety. I had every symptoms you could dream of. I had tried many meds, to no avail.

Over a year ago a switched doctors and completely broke down. I'm a mother with two kids under 11. Happily married, own my house and life should have been good but anxiety was killing me. So she did all the checks and all came back as fine. So we tried sertaline. I was so nervous taking it that hubby stood in the kitchen when I took the first one. Yes I had the side effects and every time I increased my dose I got side effects.

A year later.. I can now drive my car far from home.. without having to pull over and panic or make excuses not to drive. I can go places on my own and I actually enjoy my own company. I even got a dog.

So those who are at the start of your journey on sertaline.. hang in there. It takes a long time to work and when it does it works amazing and will change your life.

Thanks everyone who supported me when I started this Journey.

This is so encouraging! How long did it take for everything to fall into place- meaning a good "new normal?" What dosage, if I may ask. I'm a mom, too, and I can relate to your story!

This is so great to hear. I too felt great for 2 years on 50mg sertraline but just recently had to up my dose as anxiety was returning!!!

It's always great to hear the success stories. As someone else on here said, you don't see many success stories because once we feel better, we aren't looking for answers/reassurance.

Hope you continue as you are. Good luck with it all xx
