My teeth feel like they are going to fall out, my gums are excrutiatingly painful, my tongue (all the ulcers are on my tongue)is painful to the touch and when I clean my teeth it feels like I'm using a wire brush no matter how gently I try to do them. The cold sore in comparison is the least of my problems although after a week its still an eyesore.

I have been living on nurofen for the last week, i've been drinking out of a straw and I feel physically and mentally fatigued. the thought of suffering with this for another 2 weeks makes me want to cry!

I feel like s..t. Sorry!

The first time you develop a 'cold sore infection' it is quite possible for the spots/ulcers/sores to be inside the mouth on the cheeks and gums. People may find they have to live on milk-shakes for a few days.

However, if you get repeat outbreaks of cold sores (and not every one does) then they will almost always be on 'the vermilion border' as dermatologists call the outside edge of your lips.

I've been using a cream with 'melissa' in it - lemon balm in English. This has prevented the last three outbreaks from developing. Call me on 020 7607 9661 if you want to know more about this cream.

    Good luck, Marian
