Could you attach pictures, please? Is your toothbrush too soft?

Thank you for sharing the pictures. I've looked closely and all I saw was a normally coated tongue. The bristles of your toothbrush probably are too weak and need to be changed. So, if you haven't already done so, go ahead and change your toothbrush.

Sometimes toothbrush bristles appear to be in very good condition when they in fact are overdue for a change. So, I'd suggest you change your brush. Also, is there anything else that accompanies the coating?

I'd earlier taken a much closer look at the appearance of your tongue than I did the soft palate because I hadn't seen any white coating on the soft palate, which could have been an indication of strep throat infection. But now that I have studied your throat closely, I notice several sores on it. So, please, have it checked out if you could. There's definitely something - such as a bacterial infection - going on.

Are you taking medication or sleeping with your mouth open? Have you changed mouthwash? Do you have anxiety right now? Is there a specific exposure that you are concerned about? A white tongue can mean many things.

Exactly! Different diseases share similar signs and symptoms. Certain medications especially could cause tongue coating. I hope he realizes that fact.

There are many reasons for white-coated tongue, including antibiotics use, oral yeast infection, weak immune system, anxiety, depression, diabetes, and other autoimmune diseases. Have you experienced any symptoms accompanied by this? If not, it's just a normal problem. You should brush your tongue more regularly and consume fermented foods.

I have been taking amoxicillin ... maybe that’s what it is.

possible. antibiotics kill bacteria in the body, but you have both good and bad bacteria. they don't discriminate and can change the balance of bacteria in the mouth. try a tongue scraper and what has worked for me in the past is gargling with salt water, instead of a harsh mouthwash. i also had a white tongue for a period and it was caused by medicine, so i can relate to this.
