My turn to ask for help

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hello friends. I have enjoyed sharing and hopefully offering help here and there since I joined this forum.

Now I have come to a point of needing to ask for help myself. I have driven myself into the ground and I also have some physical problems not associated with the ME. I saw a consultant yesterday, which was draining and I have to go to hospital in the next month or 2 for scan and small operation which I have been told could be quite uncomfortable for a few days.

As I have ME I have to double the recovery time as any invasive procedure will throw my body into shock. I have found this before.

At the moment I have little to give and I hope that someone who is in a better place with their ME at present can prop me up for a bit.

Love Alicia x

    Hi Alicia

Sorry you are so bad, you sound at the end of your tether

Whats done is done if you are so tired but you need to concentrate on getting yourself well :?

Try to build yourself up a bit before the op and scan if possible.

You probably feel worse cos the news is fresh and you need time to adapt

I will be thinking of you and dont forget we are all here for you :D

One of the things with this illness is the ups and downs, so even if you are down one of us will be up :ok:

You can just log on and even if you leave a blank page we will know you need help!!!

    Cyber hugs  :smooch: :nahnah:

    Hello Alicia

I'm so sorry that you are at such a low ebb - I just wish I could think of a way of making things better. sad

As Dale says, we all have periods of feeling really down which we think will never come to an end. But with lots of rest and hopefully a bit of TLC from loved ones, we all know too, that there will good days once again - hopefully very soon.

It doesn't help when you know you have something ahead that you are really not looking forward to and the thought of it is probably sapping your already depleted energy levels.

Is there any chance that you can have another break away with your friend at some point - you were positively 'glowing' when you returned

    from seeing her recently? :wow:

Do hope you begin to feel a little better soon - apparently we are actually going to have a taste of summer from Sunday onwards - and a bit of warmth and sunlight works wonders for us all. :magic:

Take care and a huge group huge is on it's way to you

And a big kiss from me to Max dog!!

sorry alicia you are so unwell, the only thing to do is rest and take things slow before the procedure. Afterwards the same, with plenty of warm soothing baths. Put don't forget your waterwings  .

But if you DO forget your waterwings Alicia, we'll line up someone really cool8) to give you much-needed CPR this time!!:ok:

Hee hee, thank you all. I don't need lots of sympathy, I need your silly [i:7c12b6eeb1]understanding[/i:7c12b6eeb1] humour.

Katie, my friend Jean is coming to stay at the end of August. She makes me feel better because she discourages me from wallowing and is very practical.

Also, with her being disabled herself I cannot overdo it when I am with her. :D

    Hi Alicia

Hope you are ok. It is good to have a friend who is there for you.

You are so right about the silly humour, its a Godsend and cos we are all on the same wavelength no body seems to take offence at the daft things we say!

Katie, who do you suggest as lifeguard for Alicias bathtimes? If Beckham dives into the water his "socks" will get wet and ruin the illusion!!

Oops, the decorum is going again!! Guilty....

Actually, Beckham would be a dead loss if he got wet - he'd end up losing at least one of his socks in the wash!!

Call me old fashioned, but give me Gregory Peck or Kenneth Moore any day! (I married my hubbie cos he looks and speaks like him:love: )

Mind you, I think Johnny Depp is a bit of alright  He's so beautiful - I wouldn't mind looking like him .....

Whoops, something tells me we have gone slightly off topic once again .....

Sorry mods - but it means that we go round with a smile on our faces for the rest of the day :smiley:Purely medicinal!!
