My urine sample results are back but not sure what they mean

Posted , 2 users are following.

Here are my results

Urine microalbumin level Ref. Range : Urine Albumin / Creatinine Ratio (ACR)

In Diabetes Mellitus :-

ACR >3.0 suggests clinically significant

microalbuminuria.

Without Diabetes Mellitus :-

ACR >=30 mg/mmol suggests clinically significant

proteinuria.

ACR >=70 mg/mmol suggests heavy proteinuria.

If the initial ACR is >=30 mg/mmol and <70 mg/mmol

confirm by subsequent early morning sample.

If the initial ACR is >=70 mg/mmol a repeat sample need

not be tested.

Urine microalbumin level < 7 mg/L

Urine creatinine level 5032 umol/L

Urine albumin/creatinine ratio Not Calculated - see Albumin result.

    Hi Yvonne

If you download the british foundation kidney disease app from the play store it has charts and ratios. Also has lots of advice on treatment etc. You will be able to work out what your results mean and what to expect i.e referral etc. Not much help as I am new to this myself but the app has helped me understand alot.

    Good luck

    Jane
