For those of you who have had the myomectomy surgery is it absolutely necessary to have someone with you at home or can you be at home by yourself after having the surgery?

    Hi nicole23841,

It depends on what type of Myomectomy you have, if you have an open myomectomy like I did then you will need someone to help you at home.

I'm not too sure about the Laparoscopic myomectomy

Hope this helps a little 😊

I had an open myomectomy and the first few days are the hardest because you don't realize how much not having that core strength affects you. I heard that laparoscopic is a quicker recovery but I'm sure as far as how much help with care you'd need. Personally, the act up giving up to eat, using the restroom, and walking around the house was a challenge the first week.

Not really unless you have a bunch of freinds, community like a church to help u and u can stay with or they visit you even twice a day first week and once week after. I didn't have family but I had an incredible church fam who did rotas for meals and visited me till week 5 . and stayed at freinds house for 10 days. I was extremely sore and fatigued. so really great to have freinds cooking ,shopping and visiting.
