Myopic Degeneration. Glaucoma Suspect.

Posted , 1 user is following.

I have myopic degeneration. I had cataracts surgery in my 40's bilaterally . My eye doctor suspects I have normal tension glaucoma. He prescribed Azopt and for a long time my pressures were normal 15 to 16. I had good vision for years, except for a large scotoma in my right eye.

Four months ago now I am 53, he changed the medication to Latanaprost. After that, in my left eye I developed an scotoma centrally. In a matter of 4 months I lost vision in my left eye, even using the medication. Has anyone had a similar experience? I think that people with high myopia and tilted discs, lowering the eye pressure is not a good approach as the optic nerve can shift and become hypoxic.

Can anyone share a similar situation?. Ill greatly appreciate it. Needless to say how depress I am

Thank you.
