Mysterious Brain/Blood/Bowel Stuff

Hi! This post could've gone in a few other forums but its a mainly neurological issue which sorta fits the symptoms of a migraine plus other stuff.

The least odd symptom is near constant brain-fog and very mild headache. Beyond that, there have been two occurences where things escalated beyond that, they share some symptoms but not all.

The first started with lightheadedness and strong brain fog, then progressed as I got the sense that my bloodpressure was suddenly dropping-- I could feel my hands going numb and the weight of my body pushing the blood out of the bottom of my feet, dizziness. With this, there was an increasing feeling of upset stomach typical of diarrhea. My face started to feel flushed and warm, my ears started ringing, I got tunnel vision and it became hard to stand. Oddly, every time I passed gas, the symptoms little by little subsided, and completely left once I used the bathroom.

The second incident started with a blot of kaleidoscope-vision which was increasing in size. Besides this, I felt normal. As it increased in size, I gradually lost the ability to form sentences or remember what was just said to me, I could reason and grasp the meaning of what I wanted to say, but I couldn't find the words to express them. Like my entire vocabulary was 'on the tip of my tongue'. There was also a marked drop in blood pressure, I got lightheaded and my ears started ringing, and it hurt when I shook my head. None of this had happened before. Similarly, it seemed to subside with the passing of gas and stool, but I'm not totally sure. That night I was constantly bothered by my limbs going numb, even when completely horizontal and not compressed at all. The same problem has stayed persistent, but much less intense.

I honestly have no idea what's goin on.

Thanks for the help!

Yes I had all of this with an auto immune disorder. Have you had blood tests checking ana esr crp?? Probably not but ask for those. Also rule out basics by getting the usual range of standard blood tests. Any joint pain?

I haven't had any tests done, and this is pretty much the only thing out-of-order at the moment-- I'm 20 so don't have much similar to joint pain yet.

What was the autoimmune disorder? Were your symptoms 100% matching?

      Thanks!

I should also say that I've been told I 'lean anemic' by doctors, but only very slightly.

I can only speak I have of the kaleidoscope vision. I had my first migraine with aura three months ago and that is how it started. I also lost my ability to form words. It was all very terrifying.

Yeah, it was definitely spooky. My family has a history with migraines-- I wouldn't assume much of it all if I didn't have the blood issues or constant brain fog. I'm just worried my brain is rotting away in subtle hypoxia or something.

      Thanks for the reply

Have you started on any new prescription meds recently? I only ask because, I have had similar symptoms and get hemi migraines.

I've been prescription free all my life, I've made some lifestyle changes for the better regarding diet, though. Do you know how a prescription would cause this though? That might shed some insight.

      Thanks!

It was more to rule it out, because since I have been med free the last 10 weeks my symptoms that I have had for 4 years have disappeared. I have read that migraines can disappear for a bit then return, so could be this, but the timing hasnt escaped me.

You mentioned changes to your diet...certain dietary changes, vitamin deficiencies & etc.. can cause various symptoms. An increase in fiber(and certain other foods) will increase bowel movements & gas, too much fiber can cause gas, cramping. A deficit/ or too much of certain vitamins can cause symptoms...increased magnesium works as a laxative, if you drastically reduce your calories you can suffer from low blood sugar, causing dizziness...anemia causes various symptoms like yours, food colors & other triggers can cause headaches, not eating, dehydration(from diarrhea) can cause multiple symptoms including migraines(there are ..many types of migraines), also NATURAL dietary supplements can cause side effects as they come from plants/animal sources. Write down your symptoms, write down everything you eat & drink, any vitamins, other non prescription meds, so you can see if there are patterns, and to bring to the doctor(so you can show them & not forget) it would be good to ACTUALLY get blood pressure readings at various times throughout the day, review your dietary changes, be sure to drink lots of water, look up proper vitamin, minerals, caloric amounts for your age & size, there are MANY things that fit some of your symptoms(most people don't get EVERY possible symptom of illnesses/diseases/conditions) and they can vary from person to person, thats why a doctor should be seen, if you continue to have these symptoms longer than a week or two...they can run bloodwork & do various imaging & tests to find answers, other than researching dietary & vitamins, your FIRST step should be a doctor vs. trying to diagnose yourself using conflicting reports online....Best Wishes, hope you feel better soon or at least get some answers, feel free to contact me if you need/want to...stress/worry/anxiety will make things worse so book your appt. to see doctor, if you continue with these symptoms, IF you ever have severe pain, pass out, trouble breathing or have bleeding GO TO ER DO NOT WAIT💕☮
