Mysterious Bruising on thighs

Hi everyone,

I am 21 years old and this week I noticed a lot of bruising on the backs and sides of my thighs. I noticed a medium sized bruise on the side of my thigh, and was not totally surprised because every once in a while I will get a bruise that I do not remember hitting on anything. The next day (Tuesday), I realized that I have a ton of small bruises on the backs of my thighs on both. There are probably 7 small bruises on the right, and 4 on the left. I know I have not hit them on anything recently. I have also been extremely tired, but chances are that is because I am a college student, and between being stressed about school all the time, and studying, I usually only get 5-6 hours of sleep per night, so there is a good chance that they aren't related. Other than that, I have been kind of generally achey and have had a headache the last couple of days. I am 100% a hypochondriac haha, so I never know if I am overreacting or if I should go to the doctor to check out the bruising. Any help, or if anyone has had a similar situation, I would really appreciate it!

    Hi,

Bruising may occur due to mild trauma in some people with vascular and blood disorders.

So, it's better to visit your doctor for a some investigation.

      Thanks for responding!

To give a little update, today I was not quite so exhausted or as achey as I have been earlier in the week. In addition, my bruises are still there, but to me they look like they have faded a fair amount. Do you think that I should make an appointment, or countinue to moniter them since they appear to have gotten a bit better?

Shan, sometimes bruising can point to something more serious, so do go & see your doctor as soon as possible.

Good luck & do let us know how you get on.

Perhaps you had a virus.  Keep monitoring it & if you have any concerns at all, go & see your doctor.

      Good luck!
