Mystery

About six years ago I had an accident which resulted in my scraping my right leg quite badly in muddy water. At the time, my right leg was fairly swollen for a good couple of weeks. Since then, on three occasions (most recently this weekend) I have suffered a bout of sickness lasting about a day, followed by swelling and quite vivid red inflammation of my lower right leg. This lasts for up to a week, and responds well to antibiotics. These attacks are separated by a couple of years, but follow the same pattern each time.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Perhaps in the infection is lingering down deep below, did you complete you full the course of the antibiotics ? if so have you been to the doctor again ?

Yes, I completed the course of antibios on both occasions, and will do so again. As I say, they have been very effective.

It may be so that you have an infection and you dont want it to get any worse or go anywhere else in your body because you can become very sick by this.  You really need to go back to the doctor and let them know so they can check your blood or give you some type of MRI or xray.  Some xrays dont show anything but, an MRI may help find the problem Im not sure but you do need to go back to the doctor for antibiotics and maybe something for pain.  I wish you well.
